EcoFlow DELTA Max 2000 (EFD310): fire hazard

CPSC reports that the power stations may overheat and ignite, posing a risk of serious burn injury and fire hazard. EcoFlow had received six reports of units catching fire, with property damage totaling over $850,000. About 25,030 units were sold on Costco.com, Amazon.com and Ecoflow.com from July 2022 through May 2025. The remedy is a free repair in the form of a firmware update: CPSC says to stop using the power station immediately and contact EcoFlow for instructions.

No thinking needed. Turn main power on then activate 120 sockets with a button and do almost anything. Portable power, on the go. It has been wonderful for my navigation tablet and phone. I've hooked up a single solar panel with the provided cable, just works. Very happy with the purchase.

I own two of the Ecoflow Delta Max units and each one has two expansion batteries. I originally bought these for potential grid-down scenarios back in the "summer of love".... (2020). All pieces are updated to the latest firmware, and I put a discharge/recharge cycle on them at least once a year. I recently took my refrigerators off-grid and using one power station setup is working well, being charged by 800W of solar on my semi-flat roof. I can charge via grid if I ever run out of sunlight, but not much chance of that in the Arizona desert.

easy to install have had no issues with the system I bought it with 4 panels. I would source my panels separately as i think you can get better panels cheaper from other sources. No problems with the hardware that i got though.

I had high hopes for the EcoFlow STREAM Microinverter. Utah recently passed a law allowing small plug-in solar devices without an interconnection agreement, and EcoFlow markets this as plug and play: no installation, start saving. In practice, it wasn’t that simple. The meter problem. My home has an older meter that can’t distinguish power flowing in from power flowing out. Any time the system sent excess power to the grid, the meter counted it as electricity I used, so I was billed for energy I actually produced. I didn’t discover this until months later, when I ran my own analysis of my usage. Rocky Mountain Power. When I contacted Rocky Mountain Power, they told me the device isn’t on their approved equipment list, that they don’t allow these devices on their grid, and that they would remove my meter if I kept using it. This is despite the state law saying no interconnection agreement is required. My state representatives, who helped pass the bill, told me there was nothing they could do. EcoFlow’s support. The marketing promises no installation needed, with no mention of meter compatibility or utility pushback. By the time I understood the problem, I was well outside the return window. Separately, one of the units simply stopped working after a few months. It took weeks of back-and-forth proving it was dead before EcoFlow shipped a replacement, which is still in the box. My review on their site. I submitted a version of this review on EcoFlow’s website in August 2025. More than a year later, it has never been published. That sums up my experience: the marketing is everywhere, but when problems came up, EcoFlow didn’t stand behind the product or support me as a customer. The product itself. To be fair, the hardware works when it works. I liked being able to cap output to avoid sending power back to the grid. But without live monitoring of household usage in the app, setting that cap correctly would have meant building my own monitoring setup. I’m glad I tested it on a temporary ground mount before committing to a dedicated circuit and roof mounting. Even so, it was money wasted, and now both units sit unused. Bottom line: This kind of low-barrier solar is exactly what the industry needs. But until utilities, regulators, and manufacturers are on the same page, it’s plug and play only in theory. If you’re a Rocky Mountain Power customer, call them and confirm your meter type before buying. If they won’t support it, you’re better off with a properly installed grid-tied system from an installer who will handle the utility for you. - The wording of my review was reviewed by AI. I have reviewed the output and it properly summarized my terrible experience. - The Charged Reviews website wouldn't let me select the store I purchased this from, so I selected Amazon. The original purchase store was directly from EcoFlow's main website.

My wife uses a CPAP machine. When the power goes out (we live in FL). that's a problem. So, doing research, most people were saying get a Jackery 500 or something that size and turn off all the stuff that you would normally run on her ResMed. That seemed like malarkey to me, so I looked for something a little bigger. Hence, the Ecoflow Delta 2 and 2 190w solar panels. Since the initial charge via the wall outlet, I have NEVER powered it from the wall again. With the MPPT built-in, it was a good fit. But shortly thereafter, I thought it stupid to just let is sit there, waiting. I began putting it to work. It runs the washing machine, the slow cooker, an induction burner, charges all of the EGO batteries, even the outdoor Christmas lights for a month each year. I added the external Ecoflow battery before I discovered Will Prowse. So, I have it and use it but wouldn't recommend it. I've also added 4 100ah lifepo4 batteries to help out as needed when we lose the sun for too long. I have a relative that purchased a gas generator about the same time; he hasn't even opened the box yet. The price I originally paid is superfluous as they are much cheaper now and you can get larger units for the same money. But I have zero regrets.

I've had 1 of these at my property for about 18 months and it works great. No complaints. It's my only source of electricity and has a 240 plug for a well pump. I use the 30 amp plug with a step up converter because you can't send power the 240 and 120 at the same time. It's small on it's own but I've partnered it up with an ecoworthy power mega 314 (w/ wattlink adapter cable), 900w of panels and It's fantastic. I don't know about the software because I don't use it.

Love this website Will! I’ve owned a few various portable solar panels made by other manufacturers which never reached their claimed output. Well, I’m very impressed with these Ecoflow 110 watt portable solar panels. These easily reach the rated 110 watts and at times a little over. The construction is excellent and the case it all folds into is well made with a high quality zipper that is sure to last. Yes, these were more expensive than other manufacturers, but worth it. It’s always better to pay a bit more for the good stuff than to feel ripped off by the poor performers. Pluses: Meets and beats rated output. Very well constructed of high quality materials. Cons: My set is a few years old so there’s no stand legs at the rear of the panels. Ecoflow’s design was to use the case to hold these up which is not stable. I need to use whatever such as the car, a bench, whatever to aim these at the sun. I do have a friend with a newer set that now comes with folding leg stands. Summary: I’ll never go with cheap panels again. A few bucks more and worth it!

I got a Delta 2 in 2024. I used it to get partly through the Palisades fire shutdown. It lasted about 1-1/2 days of the 3-day shutdown. Didn’t have enough solar panels or time to fully recharge. In general, everything about the Delta 2 performed as expected, just needed to set up solar panels better. I am very happy with the unit, build quality, app, everything. EcoFlow is more expensive than other brands, but it just works - EcoFlow is often compared to Apple in that regard. I’m often suspicious of five star reviews, but the Delta 2 is solid.
